End of the Age of Obama
Weekly Standard ^ | 11/10/14 | JAY COST

**SNIP**

We are seeing this play out right now. Obama’s coalition in 2008 was relatively large—at 53 percent of the vote—but unstable. In a country as vast and diverse as ours, all such coalitions are bound to be unstable. And what we have seen is Republicans poach a critical mass of the Obama vote away, in 2010 and likely in 2014, to foil his agenda. Just as Madison might have expected.

It is well known that this president likes to golf and watch hipster favorites like Game of Thrones, so he probably is too busy to read dusty old books about men who lived long ago. But those who aspire to succeed this sterling mediocrity in the White House would do well to spend their free time a little differently.

We would suggest a careful study of the words and deeds of the Founding generation. There is much to learn from Madison’s complex philosophy, Alexander Hamilton’s innovative economic program, George Washington’s careful and steady management, and Thomas Jefferson’s pragmatic policy of conciliation. Let’s hope our next president grasps that you have to respect our past to lead us effectively into the future.

The lasting damage from this a-hole will be the permanence of the entitlement mentality.

A LOT of damage can be done in the remaining two years.

How does it foil his agenda if:

he governs via executive order.
the legislature rolls over.
the judiciary kisses his butt.
the citizenry sucks it up.
the media are lapdogs.

fascists never quit. he is fascist, just like hitlery.

We all wish that it is the end of his mismanagement of the country.

Even if the GOP takes over both houses of Congress, Obama still has “a pen and a phone” and we should not expect the pubbies to grow a spine overnight.

Also, we should not forget that the GOP likes to ‘reach across the aisle’, even if it is to their disadvantage.

Had this President studied such ancient books and writers, as well as the histories of nations, that America's wise Founders had studied, then he might have understood what the writer of this article summarizes.

The depth of the well of historical records from which he draws does not equip him with such wisdom and understanding, however.

The writings of late-19th and early-20th Century "liberal" (now self-described "progressive") ideologues ill prepares one for leadership of a free society.

The writer makes it very clear that the real power is with Congress. Congress better f***ing get their act together and abolish 0bolacare. If they don't, expect 2010 all over again and a constitutional conservative and libertarian wave to chop a leg out from under the GOPe.

Very nicely put.
However, in my opinion the problem is that he is a lying, lazy, piece of shit.
It makes no difference what he reads.

Has he ever had friends and allies in congress? His buddies are czars and “special advisor” Valerie Jarrett.

The “Age of Obama” is nothing but a reflection of what’s in the electorate, and it’s here to stay.

IMHO

Does any sane person believe that Buckwheat can lead an army of fat SEIU sows onto a battlefield and win?

Obuma is the most wimpy, gutless president in the history of America. The only people who fear Obuma are hand-wringing liberal apes.

Obama promised a lot of things but never really delivered on them.

For that, he has no one to blame but himself.
