Lena Dunham has blasted a right-wing website’s “upsetting and disgusting” claims that she molested her little sister when they were kids.
Truth Revolt’s article, “Lena Dunham Describes Sexually Abusing Her Little Sister,” points to a section of the “Girls” creator and star’s new book of essays, “Not That Kind Of Girl,” in which she describes examining her then-one-year-old sister Grace’s vagina when she was 7 to see if it looked the same as her own.
The piece also mentions a National Review article that calls the essay “especially suspicious” and says “there is no non-horrific interpretation of this episode.”
Dunham shot back in a series of tweets on Saturday.
“The right wing news story that I molested my little sister isn't just LOL- it's really f-----g upsetting and disgusting,” the 28-year-old tweeted. “And by the way, if you were a little kid and never looked at another little kid's vagina, well, congrats to you.

Dunham writes of casually masturbating while in bed next to her younger sister, of bribing her with “three pieces of candy if I could kiss her on the lips for five seconds … anything a sexual predator might do to woo a small suburban girl I was trying.” At one point, when her sister is a toddler, Lena Dunham pries open her vagina — “my curiosity got the best of me,” she offers, as though that were an explanation.

Thank you. But then again, I had normal parents who taught me such things were not healthy, wise, or kind.
I read the NR article, which was disturbing though hardly surprising, as I already felt she was damaged. She seemed strangely unaware of the perversity & craziness of her parents.
Just read her bio on wiki. Both of Lenas parents were waaaay out of left field Greenwich village artists types. The mom had a thing for photographing dollhouse furniture and dear old dad was fond of painting female genitalia. Poor girl never had a chance for normal. She wouldn’t recognize normal if it came up to her and bit her on the ass.

In any normal society, she would be considered severely disturbed. Her show as I’ve heard about it is mainly her naked half the time and mainly living a hipster lifestyle. Thing is, that she’s becoming more and more unpopular and I do think that she’s severely in need of psychological help.
Well of course not that would be, Um... abnormal.

She has no grounds for any lawsuit. I think her protestations are for the sake of publicity.
She abused her younger sister. There is no question about that. Of course, given her sick parents and the fact that she was seven at the time that she did those acts, it is not unreasonable to think she shouldn’t be punished by the law for it, but it’s still abuse and it should be condemned, not celebrated.
A normal society would be looking into her past and would be asking if she molested other children.
