Politics 2014 Election McConnell: No Shutdowns, No Full Obamacare Repeal

Jay Newton-Small/Hazard, KY @JNSmall

8:22 AM ET

Sen. Mitch McConnell was giddy... Kentuckian... TIME’s interview ...

Notably, a full repeal of Obamacare was not on his mind...

...

... get America back to work ... Keystone XL pipeline ... medical device tax ... 40-hour work week ... individual mandate ... bipartisan majority in the Senate

... agree on with the President ... comprehensive tax reform and trade agreements

... international trade

... nuclear option? ...we’ll discuss that...

...

... immigration reform? We’re going to discuss...

What if ... executive action ... immigration? ... funding process. ... a budget ... appropriations bills.

... a government shutdown? ... you re-pass it.

... possibility of a government shutdown?

No. There is no possibility of a government shutdown. Remember me? I’m the guy that gets us out of government shutdowns. (He laughs.)

...

...

So, in 2016, what’s your top priority?

Well, it’ll be to keep the majority, of course.

...

exactly. The more people learn about it, the less they like it. it was sold as a lie.

We have Republican Olympia Snow to thank for it.

She should have stopped it (or at least delayed it)..

But no. the dumb Rino thought it would be a good idea to vote for it.

Laura Ingram said it best, we won, we push hard now for our issues we do not go in and compromise like we’re still in the majority (but you know the GOP are a bunch of wussies and will do exactly that)

In his speech last night, he tried to pretend he wasn't part of the GOPe saying those in Washington have forgotten who they work for and excluded himself.

That weak chin shows his true nature.

Yet the party hacks never tire of intimidating or attempting to shame everyone into voting for their Establishment morons.

“Save the country! Vote Republican!”

We are all about to see how stupid that idea really was.

Washington will NEVER allow itself to be reformed from within via the institutions it has corrupted of itself.

Some of us are awake to reality. The rest still slumber.

But a rude awakening is coming by February. Already the Party Hacks are telling us that they cannot do anything until they win the presidency….. with JEB.

It’s a Statist Uniparty over there in D.C. You and I are just the subjects and the vast majority keep saying “Thank you sir may I please have another?”.

Too bad most of the elected people on both houses are too chickenshit to take on the anemic leadership.

You've got it wrong. They have their hands out, and those hands are always kept full. That is why Article V is the only way back to the Founders' vision.

The good guys won this one but the tight margins in many of these races mean that there are STILL large pockets of diehard Democrats who STILL DON’T GET IT!!

There are HUGE pockets of people who didn't even vote, most likely a fair percentage of conservatives.....

The turnout in Texas was pitiful......don't get me wrong, I like the outcome, but we have got to find a way to get people to the polls in mass.....

To Moderators:

Please be aware I will be logging off for the day.

My post this links to, is mine, but the content is in some ways questionable. I truly believe it, but it is contrary to the political views of many here, and most importantly appears to fly in the face of views, by the owner of this site.

I respect his opinion, and do not want to go too far.

I have been paying attention, and nobody has really jumped on me about it. However I won’t be able to watch it once I log out.

If there are any objections to that post please delete it. I again am not making a strong political statement, merely expressing an opinion.

I would prefer if it stays up however, and appreciate everyone’s moderation of views, thus far.

Have a great day everyone.

IMO, certain parts of Obamacare can never be repealed (ban on pre-existing conditions, junior gets coverage till age 26, free birth control) because they are popular freebies.

I feel a window of opportunity has opened. Question remains whether the GOPe will understand why it opened.

If the GOPe closes the window, it will be their soon downfall as certainly as Tuesday was a victorious day for Republicans.

Well let’s face it, in Texas the results pretty much were a foregone conclusion.

I’m pretty positive that the “opportunity” will be squandered. In fact, Rove, McConnell and the Establishment are already telling us this.

Just read the OP.

They are saying that the repudiation of the Tea Party for more moderate candidates is one of the reasons why the GOP won last night.

Everything should be on the table. Obama and his illegal actions must be stopped.

Yes, fear dictates that I join hands with you today. Yet, I have hope and choose to wait a month or three to determine whether you were right all along.

Well the first step was getting rid of the Democrats.

Now the next step is getting rid of the GOPe.

Me being right about the GOP means nothing. It’s not going to stop the MarxoFascist agenda or bring our disappeared liberties back.

It’s not going to stop the MarxoFascist agenda...or bring our disappeared liberties back.

I need not wait a month or three to know the absolute truth of the first part or the likelihood of the second.

Please understand, I've never been a foremost hands-sitter, even when I should have waited.

Mitch remaining the leader is a bellweather...a canary in the mines.

Chris Wallace is already talking this morning about how the GOPe has shut down the Tea Party. TP candidates didn't win the primaries and therefore...... business as usual and no Cruz as Majority Leader. *sigh*
