WHAT LANDSLIDE? Obama threatens vetoes and executive orders – including immigration reform THIS YEAR
dm ^

President Barack Obama came out swinging on Wednesday just 14 hours after a Republican wave swept over the U.S. Congress in an election that largely repudiated his policies.

'Congress will pass some bills I cannot sign,' he said, threatening to dust off a veto pen that he has used only twice in nearly six years. And he hinted at executive orders that will enrage conservatives. 'I'm pretty sure I'll take some actions that some in Congress will not like,' he said. 'That's natural. That's how Democracy works.'

Much of reporters' tussling with the president focused on executive orders related to immigration reform – what some tea party Republicans call an 'amnesty' – which he plans to implement this year.

He acknowledged that the GOP won Tuesday's elections, but framed the results as a mandate for Republicans to work with him, instead of the other way around. 'Obviously the Republicans had a good night,' he said.

But he said he would principally work with them 'if there are ideas that the Republicans have that I am confident will make things better for ordinary Americans.'

'I want to just see what works,' he said. 'The American people sent a message,' he claimed, 'one that they've sent for several elections now.'

'They expect the people they elect to work as hard as they do. They expect us to focus on their ambitions, and not ours.'

He then rattled off a list of economic indicators that he said buttressed his case that Republicans should accept his point of view.

'More Americans are working. Unemployment has come down,' he claimed, glossing over the part-time employment shift that the Obamacare law's employer mandate has ushered in.

More reasons he’s totally outta touch, and the Democrats will be soundly defeated again in two years time.

Two more years you twit. Enjoy it while it lasts.

It bears repeating that we are not a democracy, we are a constitutional republic.

The liberals tell us that Obama was a constitutional law professor, yet he apparently doesn’t know this basic fact.

I wish I could hear Ted Cruz say “If the President acts alone on immigration, I will be asking the House for articles of impeachment.”

Threats-flimflam-more threats and more flimflam.

Obama needs to do only one thing... RESIGN.

It’s not a democracy. It’s a Constitutional Republic. I wish we’d start pointing that out to the man child.

If he executes a presidential directive granting sweeping amnesty, he has bigger problems than the Republicans. The public has been increasingly inclined now to reject amnesty. A lot of the black lobby groups are also voicing opposition.

Will he do it? He has only weeks left now to do as much damage as he can.

"That's the strategy here. We've got to take the Senate back. As far as Obama with his executive orders, they've got to impeach him the day they have the power … stop his agenda in its tracks. That's the entire strategy in this book."

King Obama is America first dictator and this Senate win means nothing. Only impeachment will change things and even is started will not happen.

Chances we will not win in 2016. America is finished when we lost Romney in 2012. Many Republicans still cannot face their ignorance and were willing to be where we are now. With a powerful dictator.

Everytime he acts alone, he is ignoring the will of the people thru our representatives that we have gone to the polls to elect. Congressmen need to point this out over and over.

What happened to

I WON!!!!

GET OVER IT!

There are asses and there are pompous asses this guy is the poster child for both.

Not to get trite on him but someone please ‘splain to him that a TRUE DEMOCRACY is 2 wolves and a lamb voting on what is for dinner.

If one of the wolves ain’t a Vegan, it is a forgone conclusion there will be lamb stew tonight - Even if one of them IS a Vegan, doesn’t guarantee he will turn on his ‘blood brother’.

A ‘true democracy’ would have seen ALL that ‘look’ like him being shipped to the ‘newly formed Liberia’ a few years back, NOT be asked if they ‘wanted’ to go.

He does have the right gist though....

A Democracy ceases to exist (well gets seriously hindered) when the have nots figure out that if they band together they can make the haves a non factor— other than financing the whole kaboodle.

Of course once the Haves figure out that giving to a ‘Central Fund’ to have it redistributed to the Have Nots so they can use the money to VOTE AGAINST them, the Haves become scarce.

Impeachment is (well never say never) but pretty darn unlikely.

a. The house is afraid of being called racists if they even consider articles of impeachment.

b. Senate needs 2/3rd majority to remove a President from office.

The house needs to focus on controlling the executive with the tools the Constitution gave it: budgeting.

The senate needs to exercise due judgment on his appointees.
