Federal Eye: More than 25,000 federal workers to lose their health plans next year

More than 25,000 federal employees will lose their health plans next year as insurance providers drop out of the government’s coverage network, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

Affected workers will have the option of switching to other plans within the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, but the number of disruptions will reach the highest level since more than 61,000 enrollees had to change plans in 2009.

Insurance providers drop out of the federal workforce’s health program every year, so this year’s changes are nothing new. Companies generally leave the network because they have not attracted enough enrollees to justify administrative costs, according to OPM.

Postal workers.
I’ve tried to explain to my colleagues what is going to happen but they pooh, pooh my remarks. We received a letter in 2012 explaining what will happen, but that was so like 2 years ago man. Who can remember that far back.

Executive Order number 1293 from Obama: No more screwing over federal workers. I’ll give them and exemption.

They should just claim to be illegals and they can get ObamaCare for free.

One of those little, no never mind, announcements that Obama ordered be held back until after the election?

Don’t buy a new policy. Don’t pay the fine.

25,000 of 3 million government employees is only 8 thousandths of them! .....This article makes it sound like a disaster for government employees.

There are many millions of non-government citizens who have no health insurance because they cannot afford the premiums and deductibles of the ACA!!!!!

This is really a non-story. Five current insurance providers are dropping out and will be replaced by five new ones. This is a minor inconvenience for the relatively small number of affected workers. At least these workers have several alternatives. In many private sector companies, there might be a choice among HMO, PPO, and traditional, indemnity plans, but no choice within any of the options.

I hope everyone loses their health insurance under this abomination. Maybe, then, more people will go ape-**** against these commi8es in this “administration”.

Open season for insurance plans and other things like that starts Monday. The affected people can choose another plan. That said, I’ve never heard of an FEHB plan going out of business like this.
