Senate Democrats lost their majority on Harry Reid’s watch. But they’re closing ranks around him anyway.
In interviews with more than a half-dozen surviving Democratic senators and several top aides on Wednesday, many agreed that Americans booted some of their colleagues at least in part because of the perception that Reid’s Senate was getting little done. There were few pieces of landmark legislation to boast about, a dearth of votes on amendments and at times the chamber seemed little more than a clearinghouse for President Barack Obama’s nominees.
But most Democrats have Reid’s back, prepared to stand by him as minority leader through a tumultuous two years as he simultaneously runs for reelection in Nevada.
Vilified by Republicans’ “Fire Reid campaign,” the Nevada senator is being praised for taking arrows for the party — and seen as Democrats’ best hope to counter the Republican agenda in 2015 that seems likely to provoke the same partisan fights that occurred under Democratic rule.

As much as I detest him, Schumer is a pretty savvy politician. He will not be afraid to go for the jugular.
There aren't any many Senators left who remotely approach a "moderate" Democratic label. The rabid liberals will go with one of their own given a chance.

Exactly why this article is accurate. Look at yankeeland on the elction map and realize that there are a lot of people who are clinically insane and will not give up on their fantasy, which is communism. Harry Reid will never give it up.
And back the strong horse. Schumer is a rather strong horse and devious as all hell. Reid is mortally wounded.
But these are liberals so anything could happen. Toss a coin and you have a better chance of predicting what a lib will do than any rational logical scientific, strategic analysis.

Reid isn’t going anywhere. Neither is Pelosi.
They are the most entertaining people that the MSM can grab quotes from. Schumer is probably a close second.
for all the things we hate about Harry, he and his staff are master political tacticians. Don’t count him out.
