“Though momentum for immigration reform stalled after Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Jeff Sessions (R-AL) declared the House GOP leadership’s “immigration principles” document to be amnesty, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and President Barack Obama have indicated they want to get immigration legislation “done” this year.”

What an f’ing moron. No Republican that won reelection ran on any form immigration reform. They ran on enforcing the law and removing illegals from this country.

'Constructive Immigration Reform'
Sure that's easy - competently secure the borders, stop any & all incentives for anyone to jump said borders in the first place.

Anything that the GOP passes that has to do with immigration will be interpreted by 0bama as amnesty, and only amnesty.
The Left interpret laws to further their aims and that’s it.
Ryan must be utterly compromised by the open borders crony corporate interests and the 0bama secret police.
Ryan is a pathetic rino stooge.

Prove the feral government can enforce immigration law by enforcing CURRENT immigration law, Raul.
If the feral government is incapable of enforcing the law, why would they need a new law to not enforce?

Just as Obama wasted all the good will he had by forcing Obamacare through Congress, the GOPe will squander every cent of political capital it earned this election pushing amnesty through.
The stupid party strikes again.

My idea of “constructive” reform is construction of a fence.

We do not need, nor do we want, ‘immigration reform’.
Just enforce the law.
To: lapsus calami
Accepting the argument it will next to impossible to deport all the people that have put down roots here, make the fine for staying here big enough, many would self deport rather than pay. Could also be used as a disincentive for those who think they can sneak in.

I will never forget that Paul Ryan is the guy who authored a budget which took from veterans and gave to illegal aliens.
