They’re probably not up to anything, but if enough encouragement is given to them, they might rise to the challenge. Everybody - even a Senator or Rep - wants to feel, when they are dying, that they have made a positive difference in this world.
But we can’t do this simply by attacking. There definitely has to be the stick (which many people, such as Cruz, can administer), but there’s also got to be a carrot. Most of these people, unfortunately, are immune to the re-election carrot, because many of them are older and are not going to run again. (Can we say TERM LIMITS, children?)
But for whatever time they have left, we need them, and this means we’ve got to appeal to their better natures and call them or send them letters (by regular mail, since their websites will not accept anybody who is not in their state or district) and praise them for good decisions or tell them what the country wants.
In other words, it’s Americans who have got to set the agenda - but in a positive way, with our unique vision as Americans.
Right. And we need to do more at the local level to replace the RINOs with people with conservative values.... I will be happy to support those in DC, if they do the correct stuff.
