Vice President Joe Biden will deliver the keynote address at next weeks AFL-CIO/AFT Summit on Career and Technical Education and Workforce Development.
The Nov. 13 event at the AFL-CIO headquarters in Washington, D.C., will focus on the importance of career and technical education (CTE) in preparing K12 students for both college and career pathways. It also will examine the role of unions as collaborating partners with business, policy makers and local communities to create opportunities that prepare workers for good jobs, raise wages and spur economic development and community revitalization.
Scheduled speakers include AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka; Snap-On Tools Chairman and CEO Nicholas Pinchuk; AFT President Randi Weingarten; UTC Propulsion & Aerospace Systems Vice President Terry Nolan; North Americas Building Trades Unions President Sean McGarvey; AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Elizabeth Shuler; Machinists (IAM) President R. Thomas Buffenbarger; and AT&T Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Chief Sustainability Officer Charlene F. Lake.

There is serious talk about waking away and starting an American Labo(u)r Party.
Oh boy, we will get to hear another bunch of gaffs next week. Good ole Joe, we can always depend on him for a little humor.
Joe and the AFL-CIO would destroy Jeb on the issue of guestworkers.
Joe and Hillary’s polling amongst white voters i
And we know that now is not the time to expand guest worker programs that stifle wages and create a captive workforce.
