“Show me a young Conservative and I'll show you someone with no heart. Show me an old Liberal and I'll show you someone with no brains.”

That always annoyed me. Conservatives are people of good hearts and good souls by and large, young or old. Young and old.

Actually, a lot of Conservatives started out as Liberals. And an important point: it is people who started out as Liberals who make really good Conservatives.

Why? Because they know first hand.

I was a “Liberal” when I was younger — until I figured out that I was being lied to. I was naive and a little ignorant. A fool.
