Why Mark Begich is Refusing to Concede

Alaska Democratic Senator Mark Begich is counting on votes that are not yet counted in the Last Frontier’s Senate race. One hundred percent of the precincts are in and Begich’s GOP challenger Dan Sullivan is currently in the lead by 8,000 votes. But, the incumbent Democrat is insisting that more rural votes could change the outcome.

ABC News has the specifics:

According to Gail Fenumiai, the director of the Alaska Division of Elections, there are 23,271 early and absentee ballots deemed eligible for counting. These are already received and reviewed as eligible. They sent out another 12,541 absentee ballots and if postmarked by November 4th, ballots can arrive legally 15 days after the election and still be properly counted. Of course, they have no idea how many of those will be returned.

Because of these yet-to-be-tallied votes, Begich's campaign manager Susanne Fleek-Green said her boss is in it for the long haul:

She said Begich would make a statement on the race only after “counts arrive from the seventy outstanding villages and when the number of outstanding absentee and questioned ballots is clear.”

Sullivan’s campaign, however, is claiming that Begich is “clinging to votes that don’t exist.” Several news outlets appear to agree with them. The Alaska Dispatch News, for instance, says Begich faces “daunting math” to overcome the deficit and the Alaska Public Radio Network asserted the incumbent’s decision to stay in the race is based on an “implausible hypothetical resurgence.”

Nevertheless, Begich doesn’t seem to be backing down. This race may not be called for weeks.

Franken/Coleman was a hell of a lot closer if I recall. For Begich to win this, the fraud would be so obvious it would be overturned.

Let the vote fraud begin!

All of these ballots need to be immediately seized by the court and placed under armed guard!!

He would need something like 68% of all the absentee votes to win. Its not statistically possible (though mathematically plausible) that the absentee voters are 50% more likely than regular voters to vote for him.

I just think of Lisa and my blood boils. The Dems voted for her. They trashed Ted Stevens so Begich would win. He was later found innocent of charges but no accountability is required from lying Dems. The whole thing is disgusting.

Alaska is a Republican state, so it will be much harder for RATS to steal this election. Also, Alaska has boroughs, not counties.

Mark Bag of Sh@t got elected because of a PHONY Indictment of Ted Stevens which was totally dropped AFTER the election!!! Guess the Dems knew they couldn’t go back to that again!

Replacement absentee ballots are being forged as we speak.

Dan Sullivan won by 5 percentage points.

Its impossible for Mark Begich to overcome a lead that big.

70% of the outstanding ballots would have to break his way. Ain’t gonna happen.

I called this race for Sullivan after all the precincts reported Wednesday morning and it looks like it will stay that way.

I heard that Alaska has many remote villages, Native Alaskan settlements, fishing villages, etc. from which it takes much time to get election results.

My question is, in the era of cell phones, internet, etc. are these remote places in Alaska not calling or e-mailing voting results in? Or are they not allowed to do so legally, but need to transport physical ballots to a central location to be counted?

Seems to me we should know on election night what the results are even in these remote locations, with just an official certification required later. Satellite communications could certainly be established just for purposes of transmitting election results, if election officials chose to do such a thing.

But what do I know???

Potentially 35,000 or so votes to be counted. Begich is trailing by some 8,000+ plus
votes so that can change depending upon the early, absentee and mail ballots yet to be
tallied. He needs a large percentage of the uncounted votes to win and that
isn’t likely to happen.

.... 23,271 early and absentee ballots deemed eligible to be counted.

.... 12,541 absentee ballots sent out and if postmarked by November 4th, ballots
can arrive legally 15 days after the election and still be properly counted.
That would be Nov. 19.

Mail delivery from the bush country I suspect is part of the process
requiring the extended time.

Slow. Criminals at work. This is why RATS ridicule Pubs for complaining about voter fraud. It’s their (not so) secret weapon.

And rural votes at that! Are we to believe that two out of three of the remaining rural votes are for the Democrat?

So they wait to see how many votes they need. Then they start tallying up the absentee votes. LOL. What a crock.

In the lead image, it looks like Begich is wearing a red Commie beanie ...
(And he *is* facing Russia, “swearing allegiance” ;)
