This article begs the questions: Does Salon believe in heroes/ And if they do, who do they consider heroes?? I would be really interested in knowing the answers to those questions.
Suppose someone published an article just before Martin Luther King Day making the case that King should not be considered a hero. How would Salon respond?
You can’t reach an all time low without getting lower every day!
Knowledge will degenerate into a riot of subjective visions and Justice will be replaced by Pity as the cardinal human virtue, and all fear of retribution will vanish and The New Aristocracy will consist exclusively of hermits, bums and permanent invalids. The Rough Diamond, the Consumptive Whore, the bandit who is good to his mother, the epileptic girl who has a way with animals will be the heroes and heroines of the New Age, when the general, the statesman, and the philosopher have become the butt of every farce and satire. From W. H. Auden’s “For the Time Being,” a prophetic poem from a half century-ago (1944).
I can think of a few people they think of as heros. Che probably tips that list.
That would be the question you would expect to be answered at this point...
I seriously doubt you will get an answer worthy of print...Or even utterance...
BTW, what “is” Salon magazines subscription and distribution???
Can’t be that much, and those that do read (I use the term loosely) it, what does their limited opinion matter to the bigger scheme???
Think of it like this...If you go somewhere and say their lobby or waiting room has some of these for folks to go thru, do you check the address on the label to see if they subscribe to it??? If so, then what do you do???
Just a thought provoking situation you might want to game out and see what you believe you would do...
I personally have never seen one wherever I go...I do not believe I ever will...
Its like the Houston Chronicle...95% advertisements, 4% reporting (liberal journalism), .5% liberal editorial and .5% weather (which is about the only thing worth the paper it is printed on)...And I can get weather on my smartphone faster and easier...
So go and figure the substantive value of Salon magazinee and its impact on the majority of the country...

- Slick Willie Clinton and Balack Obama run down our American forefathers to elevate themselves
‘’... who do they consider heroes?’’ Margret Sanger for one.
Look for the union label.
From my experience, I am not a hero, but I served with many.
Liberal elites thought Larry Flynt the pron peddler was a 'hero'. Then there's Harvey Milk - the pedophile... they even got his picture on a stamp. Those guys really ARE liberal heroes... ya can't make this stuff up.
