I stopped reading at “staunch protestant”
If you can help it, I don’t want to be pinged to news from “LifeSiteNews” any more.
I stopped reading at staunch protestant
...so sorry you’re so offended by someone embracing catholicism...
...she probably just did it just so you could tell us all how offended you are...
That’s what you took from it? sad
Thats what you took from it? sad
...ah...so I’m completely wrong and you’re totally open to Catholicism...?
...so glad to hear I’m mistaken...
The author was attacking Christian “protestants”, pure and simple. That is what I was referring to.
I want to see them refer to child molesting priests as “staunch Catholics” and see what happens.
I know more than one nun, several in the family, that are homosexuals. One ran off with her girlfriend. Both are nuns to this day. Mental illness.
“Robin, a staunch Protestant who twisted scripture to suit her gay lifestyle”
I agree with you that, sadly, they took an otherwise good story and made it a swipe at “staunch protestants.” Which is absurd. They managed to - backdoor - paint all “staunch protestants” as homophiles. This “Southern Baptist” is a “staunch protestant” and I (and my fellow SBs in good standing) stand strongly against anything that would twist scripture to legitimize homosexual behavior. So, this otherwise good story has been made into Roman Catholic propaganda...instead of a story about God’s Sovereign Grace at work.
BTW - IF the writer would have “correctly” stated a “staunch LIBERAL protestant”, then it wouldn’t have been so egregious.
The writer stood up for his article when I questioned it.
I’m done with that site.
I was banned from commenting on that site for objecting to that sentence.
seriously.
“I was banned from commenting on that site for objecting to that sentence.”
Doesn’t surprise me at all. When one attempts to find out about the agenda of the site, they make no mention of being “Roman Catholic” oriented. That is very deceitful and wrong. Hey, it is OK for someone to be pro Rome, but they should be honest about it. Also, they should not “twist” and otherwise good story to carry out a secondary hidden agenda. Like you said, would they allow someone to write “staunchly Roman Catholic priest molests child.” We know they would not.
I firmly believe that Jesus Christ is in the business of helping sinners (in this case a homosexual) to forsake their sin and live a godly life. I want to be clear on that. However, getting ashes smeared on your forehead is not the mechanism for this....nor is it tied to any denomination (to include my own). It is all of grace.
We have to remember this when we deal with them.
