“Some Ukrainian rebels are Muslim. But then they would be the allies of the Russians”

Why on earth would you think that?

~Some Ukrainian rebels are Muslim. But then they would be the allies of the Russians~

Well, there are numerous Chechen government loyalists who are fighting for the rebels in Ukraine. They believe they are doing Russia a favor for liberating Chechnya from jihadis.

On the other hand, there are Chechens who thought against Russia (a jihadis mentioned above).
They consider current Chechen regime Russian puppets and fighters who opted to fight for Russian interests - munafiq - literally ‘hypocrite’ aka fake muslims or slaves of kuffar (infidels).

Like any other jihadis the second group is quite cowardice. As it is now pretty much suicidal to wage jihad in Chechnya they are traveling to Ukraine to meet their pro-rebel munafiq compatriots as part of Ukrainian pro-government militias. They also believe they are doing Ukrainian Nazi groups a favor because many of Nazis joined the jihadis during Russian-Chechen Wars.

And of course the third large group are Crimean Tatars who consider themselves the biggest losers of Russian takeover in Crimea as far as they aren’t allowed to get away with their muslim bull crap anymore.
