If it didn’t get done 10 years ago with Bush in office, it’s pretty unlikely now.

Time for a Federal Marriage Amendment

We can't! Some judge, any judge, any where (district, state or federal) will simply declare it to be unconstitutional and voila! A single lone judge or 2-3 at most, now has the power to decide how to define marriage for 300 million people, irregardless of any state constitutional amendments or even a federal amendment.

We are ruled by a totalitarian dictatorship led by black robed evil tyrants along with 0dumb0sh_t! The Supreme Court refuses to allow any lawsuits to be heard at the USSC, and instead dodge the issue by allowing sodomy marriage to be declared legal in state after state. We desperately need a new CWII or Am Rev II, now more than ever!

Yeah....have to wait for the ‘new confederacy’ to do that. Split from the coasts and the other lib states or it won't ever be ratified.

It was “time” 15 years ago, but John McCain and other “Republicans” insisted that it wasn’t necessary, since DOMA would protect us. Back in 1998 or so, a Federal Marriage Amendment easily would have cleared 2/3 of each house and been ratified by state legislatures of 38 states, and that would have been that.

You need 38 states to ratify an amendment. Gay marriage was adopted by the voters in 3 states (MD, ME and WA), and by the legislatures in 10 more (CT, VT, RI, NH, MN, HI, NY, DE, MA and CA [passed by the legislature after the courts had invalidated an earlier ban]). So good luck with that.

“Time for a Federal Marriage Amendment.”

Until the Federal injustice system becomes inclined to actually read the Federal Constitution Its hard to imagine us getting very far adding more text to it. Unless of course that text implicitly empowers and demands a separate party throw those injustice out.
