"They can fit a toilet, a shower, a pedestal sink, a galley kitchenette, a Murphy/bunk bed and a combo living/dining space in such a tiny home."
I doubt it - the residents of the tiny houses have ACCESS to those other amenities, which are probably centralized in a common group facility. The houses look bedroom-sized, and could not possibly have all those features.

These midget homes are so cute for small people. Can’t live in anything where I bang my head (5’18”)

“...was occupied by several single mothers, and their accumulated brood. Within two years, the place had to be razed.”
I was recently hired by clients who tried the same thing at their rental home in Madistan. Eight hours, 14 bags of mulch laid and 12 bags of weeds and piles and piles of pruned brush from overgrown trees and shrubs hauled away and the OUTSIDE looks relatively decent, again.
I was given the key to the house this week. I’ll be viewing the inside come Wednesday. I’m thinking it’s NOT going to be pretty...

“To solve the problem of homelessness they need 374 people in EACH of those Tiny Homes.”
Go to south Texas and any given day you can see more Mexicans than that climb out of a station wagon, not counting the goats.

Five feet, eighteen inches, eh?
I'm not so short, myself, and decided on a small, efficient house instead of a tiny house. ["Efficient:" see no need for paying the electric companies, the gas companies or the bipartisan commies/fascists invested.] To code, a small house can be 120 sq. ft. (IRC). Bipartisan, local commie regulators in some locales are even more dishonest than others. In those cases, 220 sq. ft. (IBC--original intent was for multi-unit buildings). Mine will be a little bigger than that but not big at all.
Have fun. Enjoy the real estate slide. I know that I will.

With few exceptions homeless people are mentally ill, addicted and unstable. They don’t need homes,,,they need placed in mental hospitals to protect and treat them. OH, WAIT...THE IDIOT LIBs CLOSED MENTAL HOSPITALS IN THE 60’S AND 70’S SO THAT THOSE THERE COULD BE “FREE”. Malignant idiot LIBs.

The closing of those institutions was a feminist effort. They’d watched too many movies about upscale housewives being trapped in booby hatches.

"Are the homeless required to buy these 'homes'? If not, this project is doomed."
Very much agreed. In my opinion, those who are able bodied should be required to purchase tiny lots and build them. That would be true conservatism. Regulations in most jurisdictions don't allow for that, though, as long as they're enforced.
"Enforced"...bond collapses and defaults in 3, 2, 1,...

Oh my. Best of luck to you, but I share your sense of foreboding.

My mother and I have had this conversation about animals a million times as we discuss how we’ll save the world. LOL! One of the things that always tops our list is that government housing/HUD homes would be smoke and pet free inside and out except for service animals.

I agree. No pets, no smokes, no alcohol. Get a job and go to town, but not on our dime.
