My friend I was well aware of the source of the quote. Too bad it’s irrelevant. Bastogne was in no way an un-winnable battle since Patton was moving up to break the siege.

A coherent, well planned, strategy with a chance of success would ‘remove me from my bunker’. Arm waving, wishful thinking, and an insistence that we must do something regardless of it’s unlikely success will not.
