Democrats to unflinchingly back Obama on executive amnesty for illegal immigrants
The Washington Times ^ | November 19, 2014 | Stephen Dinan

As President Obama prepared to announce a new temporary amnesty for illegal immigrants, congressional Democratic leaders said Wednesday they back him, and said Republicans have themselves to blame for pushing the White House into the move.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Mr. Obama warned them for months that if they didn’t act, he would.

“I’m glad,” Mr. Reid said on the Senate floor.

Next, Sen Reid is going to explain to America how this amnesty will be just super for the unemployment crisis in this country.

You know, the 90+ million working age Americans without a job and very little possibility of getting one?

I was discussing this elsewhere, and got this reply. I think it’s spot on.

“Here’s the political calculus behind this...

Obama refused to do this before the election, even publicly announcing that an executive order on immigration would be a bad idea and publicly denouncing those calling for it in his speeches.

The day after the election, the Republicans begin talking about ‘working together’ and healing the wounds (now that they control both houses of Congress)

If Republicans did start working with the Obama administration, it makes Republicans look good...which is something Democrats don’t want because they don’t Rs to win the next presidential election.

Republicans also want to pass immigration reform, they (like Democrats) recognize that the hispanic vote is essential to the future. They also recognize that latinos are very socially conservative and only vote D because of the immigration issue.

So now you’ve got a growing segment of the Republican part, led by Rubio, stealing the hispanic vote from Democrats by being in favor immigration reform.

Obama sees this and rightfully assesses that he can’t let Republicans pass reform...if he does, he’s losing the 2016 presidential election for Democrats before the candidate’s even picked.

So, Obama decides that he’s going to go back on his word and intentionally stick a thumb in eye of republicans. He decides not only to take an action intentionally designed to deliver a ‘fuck you’ to Congress by bypassing them, but he also steals the issue from Republicans by cutting their legs out from under them by not letting them get a chance to vote on it next year.

It’s a very well, coldly calculated move. Obama knows he’s unpopular and a lame duck, so he’s sacrificing his own ability to get things done in the future in order to cut the legs out of the growing movement in the republican party that supports immigration reform.

tl;dr: Obama’s shutting down any real chance at immigration reform by killing the republican movement in favor it and forcing them into a corner. It’s brilliant from a partisan standpoint, but it’s terrible for anyone who actually favors immigration reform.”

I’m sure my state’s worthless senators, Mark “The Android” Warner and Tim “The Vulcan” Kaine will both be supporting him 100%.

It’s a given that Democrats are 100% behind him. What I’m more concerned with is what, if anything, the Republicans will do about it, with so many of them on board the “path to citizenship” bandwagon. Chances are, they’ll make some noise about opposing it because it’s an Obama executive order, but if/when one their own comes through with something similar, they’ll range from crickets in the background to active support.

‘warned Republicans if they didn’t act, he would’

The Republicans didn’t vote on the Senate Bill because, once passed, the Bill then goes to committee where the Senate Dems would bulldoze the Republicans, taking out the border fence, etc. As Boehner said (and I have very little respect for him but he was right here) ‘why pass a Bill when you know the President will only enforce the parts he wants while ignoring the parts that Americans want?’. Jeez, I WISH we had an unbiased Press in this country that would report the TRUTH about this Admin.

If Republicans had any brain cells they would be absolutely publicizing the living hell out of this in the black communities because this is going to hurt blacks more than anybody. Just rile them up like crazy by talking truth and this scAmnesty can turn into the biggest mistake Democrats EVER made in thier history. I mean can you imagine having a massive ad campaign in inner cities: “Obama wants to spend $3.1 BILLION dollars on illegal immigrants because he says they are having a difficult time with drug gangs. How much did he spend on you lately?” and then you would show black victims of inner city violence etc etc

Post of the Day!!

RNC needs to be buying ads in black communities:

1. They’ve been trying to get you to abort your kids.
2. They’ve been keeping your neighborhoods unsafe (protecting white neighborhoods and letting the black ones go to seed)
3. Now they are going to let 25 million Hispanics in to take the few jobs you have, and to ensure that you’re young people have no other place to go than into the drug trade.

illegal immigrants = Oxymoron

Legal immigrants have visas, apply for citizenship, take the test, become Americans.

Wetback invaders do none of those things.
