Appearing at a Politico breakfast this week, progressive icon and New York City mayor Bill de Blasio effusively praised his fellow liberal, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), but his plaudits for likely Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton was far more reserved.
In May, Clinton delivered a fiery, populist speech, according to press accounts, denouncing the scourge of income inequality. Economists have documented how the share of income and wealth going to those at the very top not just the top 1 percent but the top 0.1 percent, the 0.01 percent of the population has risen sharply over the last generation, the former secretary of state exclaimed. Some are calling it a throwback to the Gilded Age of the robber barons.
Either he simply did not catch that speech, or even these stratospheric levels of hyperbolic pandering to the left were just not good enough for Mayor de Blasio. I think whoever runs has to address income inequality. They have to do it morally and they have to do it politically, he said, in a veiled effort to drive Clinton to the left. The absence (of which) will lead to failure.

They’re both equally corrupt and commies.
It’s the opening salvos of Clinton vs Obama Part II with Lizzie Warren serving as the Obama surrogate. Looks like the Dems will have a catfight on their hands.
Stalinist denounces Trotskyite.
Pot calling kettle white....................
By “progressive” he doesn’t mean fat.
Yep. That party has moved twelve steps to the left since she became their Golden Girl.
Kabuki Theatre. Hillary will secretly encourage a gaggle of uber-leftists to run against her, thereby making it appear as if she’s the “reasonable” one.
DeBlasio wouldn’t think Karl Marx was progressive enough.
Some are calling it a throwback to the Gilded Age of the robber barons.
This occurring under the Obama Administration. They will declare they cannot do anything with a Republican presence in DC, but they cannot deny the top 10 banks since the financial crisis have gotten even bigger!
I wonder about some of this. If liberals and Hillary will talk about these issues, which a good Democrat, Obama, has not been able to deal with, what makes them think that Hillary is the one to implement more liberalism???
Unless Hillary runs 3rd party, or as the Clintons told us back in 1998-1999, The Third Way.
I have said all along that I doubt Hillary will even run. The party is going to dump her for Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders. That’s who the young people like.
At the least the so-called Gilded Age Robber Barons built stuff and improved people’s lives. What do we get with the Robber Baron of today: Facebook and financial engineering.
A few days ago I hit the msnbc site looking to see how they were covering gruber (nada). But they did have a ‘Ready for Warren’ headline...If hillary has lost msnbc, then she has lost...
No. This is a put-on. It's the old Clinton triangulation play. Don't fall for it.
She is as whacked out left as Obama, Warren and Mayor Wilhelm.
