Full Title: Shocking moment a sheriff's deputy knocked out teen girl while trying to break up high school fight - and made the brawl even worse
A lunchtime fight at a Central California high school Wednesday ended with police swarming onto campus, closing the school and putting six students under arrest, authorities said. However, Ernest Righetti High School students say the initial fight was relatively minor, and that it was a Sheriff's deputy striking one of the girls involved in the brawl that sparked the mass violence on campus. The video shows the officer trying to break up a fight between two girls, only to hit one of the young women and drag her away. Students watching the altercation appear outraged by the act, and start to swarm the officer. Food was thrown. 'The cops made it a lot more than it had to be, pretty much,' 17-year-old Chloe Williamson told the Santa Maria Times.

Blame the Deputy for breaking up a fight is nonsense.
Just an excuse to act like animals.
The cop made it more than it had to be? Nope.
Um, he didn’t get blamed for breaking up the fight. He got blamed for escalating it.
Yes and it’s nonsense.
It is an excuse for others to jump in and act like animals.
Idiot Brits, they were all wearing bulletproof vests or they were stupid! Looked to me like the girl was trying to grab the deputy, got what she had coming.
When two boofarillas are throwing on each other, a smart man has to put the pimp hand down to condense the nonsense.
He didn’t hit her hard enough.
note that a school-wide “lockdown” was imposed following this food fight
I thought lockdowns were an extreme measure to protect students and staff in response to an armed attacker; now they are a prison-like staple to maintain basic order.
these government schools are a heck of a place for an “education”
Most boys and men learn early on that getting in the middle of a fight between two girls is a good way to end up in the ER. Tasering both the combatants might have been the safer route for all concerned.
I had to break up a fight between two teen girls at our church carnival a few years ago. It was serious business. They were wailing on each other pretty good.
Sounds like feeding time at the Monkey Cage at the Zoo.
Too bad one of the handlers got too involved.
I find it best that when the primates are flinging poo at each other - leave them alone.
act like a boy, get treated like one.
PS If you Google for "cat fight" you don't get many pictures of cats fighting.
We should be VERY concerned!
Look at the portion size of pizza in the first frame!
OH MY!
This clearly exceeds the standards set by the first mooch.
Also note, that most in the photos have been over served.
I only see one problem how did the kid sneak nachos and cheesey sauce into the school? Flotus will not be pleased
Men with prior combat training service as soldiers and martial arts experience would make better cops—exactly the kind of men who’d be most rejected by police administrations, local politicians and local plutocrats. They’d keep their cool and seldom hit, electrocute or shoot anyone.
I don’t know why it still gets to me, but how on earth can we continue to keep these fat cops on the job? Husky is one thing, this guy’s just a bowl of blubber.
The young woman got a rightful “education”. And, yes, the cop is a fat slob.
I know an officer who was stabbed in the crotch trying to break up a bar fight. Now he can't have children.
If I were a cop in a similar situation I'd tell them to stop now or they are both getting pepper sprayed. No way I would jump in.
I knew a small town Sheriff who was having coffee when he got a call on the radio of a fight at the bar. He continued to drink his coffee. I asked him if he was going to go break it up. He calmly replied "No, I'll let them finish and arrest the winner".
