The commonly heard rhetoric is that we must “create a path to citizenship.†I don’t think that is true, but since that side of the argument is better at organizing media messages, we need to explain that there is also a need to create a “path to non-citizenshipâ€, which creates a better defined permanent legal alien or temporary legal alien status (in other words, people who are permitted to reside here without any chance of every becoming voting citizens.) We also need to start a campaign of advertising that consists of billboards/webpages/television ads, which simply contain the work “sovereigntyâ€, with no other text. I literally believe that the side promoting amnesty or the executive action that Obama just took does not understand the word or the concept.
Law breakers make bad citizens. Let the good people in.
