I must confess that I haven’t read through all these threads, so this point may have been brought up, but does anyone know why they waited until 8PM local time to release the Grand Jury report? It would seem that 8AM may have been a better choice. Daylight and some of these folks at work may have thinned the crowd to a point that the police could have kept control. Any ideas?
It is what it is but yea, it seems foolish to have done this at night so the perps can operate under cover of darkness.
That said, daylight did not deter a lot of riots in the 60s and 70s.
“anyone know why they waited until 8PM local time to release the Grand Jury report?”
cuz they planned it like this?
They didn't want kids in school or on their way to school.
They didn't want to interfere with rush hour traffic.
The protesters were going to do whatever they were going to do, no matter the time. They don't have jobs. But they wanted everybody who was not involved safely at home.
I can only guess it was to give people who might live on the curtilage of the disgruntled area of Ferguson to get safely home from work, bar the doors, lock & load and otherwise prepare for the evening.
