Wow.
He should send copies to Obama and Sharpton.
Can’t add much. I agree with him.
Open mindedness and independent thought is what is needed. Watson’s inherent biases still come out in his piece, but he’s challenging them in his own mind. That’s great to see, as opposed to lockstep groupthink.
“OR maybe he provoked Michael and ignited the series of events that led to him eventually murdering the young man to prove a point. “
That’s a big fat ‘maybe’ that tends to perpetuate the problem he is decrying. WTF does the EVIDENCVE say? I don’t know or care who this guy is but his hand wringing isn’t completely persuasive.
Well said with the exception:
I’M SAD, because another young life was lost from his family...
I’m not sad for the life lost or the family..
The Mother: Lesley McSpadden allegedly led a group of 20 to 30 people to a tent in a parking lot in Ferguson, Mo. on Oct. 18 to beat and rob vendors selling ‘Justice for Michael Brown’ merchandise.
Michael Brown’s stepfather during the protest: “Burn this motherf-—er down” and “Burn this bitch down,”
Michael Brown: Had a substantial criminal record as a juvenile including a second-degree murder charge.
It’s a series of self chosen bad decisions so when it ends the way it did there’s no one to blame but Michael Brown.
As for his upbringing and the “environment he was raised in” that’s no excuse either. A lot of good people come from bad situations.
**So, finally, I’M ENCOURAGED because the Gospel gives mankind hope.**
Amen.
I’m from NE, where he played for years, and I either didn’t realize or remember this:
- his Wonderlic score of 48 was the 3rd highest ever recorded for the NFL,
- he played for Duke before transferring to GA,
- he was a finance major, and
- he’s a married Christian with four children.
