Nazi war criminal Alois Brunner 'died in Syria'

The chief investigator pursuing Alois Brunner, one of the world's most wanted German Nazi war criminals, has told the BBC that he is "99% sure" that he died four years ago in Syria.

"We cannot prove it forensically, but we are certain that is the case," Nazi-hunter Efraim Zuroff said.

SS captain Brunner is accused of deporting more than 128,000 Jews to the death camps during World War Two.

I LOVE it that the Israeli’s are STILL chasing down nazi’s.

Is there any way to know who is left (that they are still searching for)?

The Simon Wiesenthal Center maintains the best list of surviving Nazis, I just don’t have the link.

If memory serves, the youngest on the list is 88: a private who was a camp guard. None of the SS leadership is alive today, with Brunner’s passing.

I’m glad he’s dead but The Simon Wiesenthal Center focusing this much effort on the couple of last remaining 90 year old Nazis is wasted effort. They need to focus on the real Muslim crypto-Nazis that are the real threat to Jews. Will that happen? I’m not holding my breath. They will spend $10 million hunting down the last 90 year old private who worked 6 months at a concentration camp.

I understand your “get on to what is the problem now” approach, but the question of hunting down the few remaining NAZIs is a question that should be left to those who suffered under them.

Many French made the same argument in the 1980s when Klaus Barbi was returned from South America for trial and imprisonment.

And there are descendants, too, who believe justice should never sleep. Me for one. And I am neither Jewish nor Israeli.

The Wiesenthal Center is a joke. They only go after people who are too old, poor and/or sick to defend themselves.

Maybe if they tried to make Soros answer for his crimes, I would have some respect for what they are doing. Right now, there is no honor in harassing those who can't defend themselves.

George Soros by his own admission turned in over 100 Jews to the nazi’s just so he could sell their belonging he got as a reward.

Precisely.

Brunner was born 1912. If alive today he would be 102 years old. Highly unlikely.

It is fair to say there are no major Nazi war criminals alive today.

Yes you can still find some low level ageing camp guards around, but war crimes trials were originally established to punish the higher ups, high ranking officers and party leaders, high ranking government officials and policy makers. Not low level camp guards.

If this is the new standard for war criminals, I’m sure we could find many thousands of them from the former Soviet Union and among the Chicoms who annihilated many millions more than Nazi Germany.

Austrian, actually. Perhaps the BBC takes the old joke about the Austrians convincing the world that Hitler was German and Beethoven Austrian for real...

I can’t help but wonder what they will do when the last nazi is gone?

What was the Ayn Rand quote? “When you run out of criminals, make more criminals”?

Who are the next criminals?

Why don’t the Jews go after Soros as a war criminal?

Witness to Syria during the Assad regime:

"... I had a full time driver who taught me a great deal. They have a jail that is at least 15 floors deep in the ground with a bear at the bottom. Any people causing disruption in the prison are fed to the bear.

Syria and the Good Samaritan

The above I never knew what to think of but with this news, it does sound a bit like something the Nazis would come up with.

I guess one could make the case that what we are seeing over there in part is because of the brutality of the Assads

People shouldn’t miss the rest of this story, “allegedly” he went to work for the Assads per his knowledge of torture. Rather treacherous.

If you study the resources at Nizkor and related sites, you’ll find the escaping NAZI murderers were provided with sanctuary by a number of Muslim and Arab nations. These include and are not limited to Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Libya, and others. These NAZI refugees were given Arab identities and government occupations in the police, military, and intelligence services. Some of these NAZI criminals in Egypt provided Saddam Hussein with some of his early education and training. Syria was a pre-WWII advocate for Adolf Hitler, his Mein Kampf agenda of genocide, hatred of the Jews, and the wartime Final Solution insofar as it served the interests in a Muslim conquest.
