Chris Rock is a comedian who has built his career on addressing controversial topics in his material, which is why he will never perform at a college ever again.
Speaking to New York Magazine, Rock gave his thoughts on Bill Maher's appointment as the winter commencement speaker at UC - Berkeley and the student body's immediate protest. Rock said college's are just too conservative for his jokes to be effective.
"Not in their political views - not like they're voting Republican - but in their social views and their willingness not to offend anybody," Rock told the magazine. "Kids raised on a culture of 'We're not going to keep score in the game because we don't want anybody to lose.' Or just ignoring race to a fault. You can't say 'the black kid over there.' No, it's 'the guy with the red shoes.' You can't even be offensive on your way to being inoffensive."
Maher's appointment was answered with a student-led protest because of jokes he told about the Muslim religion. He responded on his show by echoing similar sentiments to what Rock gave in his interview.

While the dolt is “not touring” he could also add “not breathing” in order to aid us in raising the IQ of the multiverse.
I have to agree with Chris Rock on this one. Why go to college campuses? Why look over your shoulder at “offending” someone? It’s ridiculous.
The best humor around was done by the likes of Monty Python and the old National Lampoon magazine, where everything was fair game and they don’t give a damn whether or not someone is offended. Today there are few people like that; South Park is about the only bastion of that remaining.
Marxist-driven colleges are too conservative!
Yeeeeaaaah! Dats the ticket!
Chris Rock is an ah*le. Goes out of his way to ridicule white people, and nothing he says is humorous.
Colleges sure aren’t afraid of offending conservatives.
Rock is mixed up.
Cognitive dissonance.
I’ve watched some of his stuff on YouTube. He’s pretty funny and seems to jab at everyone.
I always say that the three "jokes" you are allowed to make nowadays are as follows:
1) "Republicans sure are stupid"
2) "Christians sure are haters"
3) "White people sure are racist"
I don't think these jokes are funny, but I've seen people on Cable TV build entire careers are variations of the three.
It’s not that they are just liberal. They are ‘you can’t hurt anyone’s feelings’ liberals. Emotion Nazis.
Couldn’t get away doing the sketches he or Chapelle used to do. Here’s on of CR’s: How Not to Get Your A** Beat by Police:

Rock’s full of crock.
You mean you cant hurt anyones feelings unless they're Christians liberals
It clearly states in the article that he refers to social, not political, conservatism. People at colleges are too scared of offending people.

Cognitive dissonance.
When you’re no longer relevant you have to do something, anything to get noticed even if it’s saying stupid $hip about white folks (conservatives) to get your butt back to work on the B.E.T. network. Self preservation.
Truth is he’s more white than any white boy that lives in a trailer park could ever be. In fact he and Obama might be related.
Conservatives don’t burn down the campus administration building or nearest CVS Pharmacy when we get offended, so not only is there an ideological litmus test on being offended, offending conservatives is relatively risk-free.
I would throw in the Goodies too.
Wow, that’s rich...need a facepalm pic to go with this thread. He’s the Marxist, he is an oppressed oppressor, just like the Townhall editorial I read recently.
At one time, I thought that he was funny. Apparently, he wasn’t what he seemed.
