High-Speed Rail Strategy: Build Now, Hope for Money Later
Breitbart News Network ^ | 7 Dec 2014 | William Bigelow

Advocates for the projected bullet train running from San Francisco to Los Angeles argued at the Public Policy Institute’s all-day State of Change conference last week that simply getting the project started would catalyze the federal government to pour more money into the $67.6 billion boondoggle. The California High-Speed Rail Authority offered the $67.6 million figure in February 2014

...

As Reason Magazine recently reported, “The CHSRA April 2012 Business Plan is so deficient that it is inconceivable that policymakers would continue to rely on its assertions to evaluate the program.”

As long as Dianne Fineswine can direct contracts to her hubby she will do everything in her power to fund it.

Even Willie Green would not have approved of the California High Speed Rail.

It will never be built and the need for it quite simply isn’t there.

Nearly 6 years after voters approved it, plans for financing and constructing it have yet to materialize.

Its time to pull the plug on this extravagant boondoggle.

Morales added that the rail line would replace 2500 highway lane miles.

This is, one suspects, beyond a mere lie.

I have yet to meet one human in the Once-Golden-State who actually plans to ride on the train.

(Which assumes that it will ever be up and running, which I highly doubt.)

I’m an enthusiast for high quality mass public transportation.

The train knit our country together.

Updating 19th technology though is quite expensive. In California, the automobile is king.

For distances up to two hours driving time, people prefer a car. More than that they will take a plane to get to their destination.

No gap has been identified that a hypothetical bullet train could fill more cheaply or reliably than existing modes of transportation provide.

Its just a political prestige project for politicians and special interests looking to build a moment to their vanity and greed.

That’s why I can’t get on board with something that will in all likelihood, never come to fruition.

Build Now, Hope for Money Later

I laid a row of bricks in my back yard. I'm hoping other bricks will show up and make a house some day. Lib logic is so dumb. That bullet train will not be built between SF and LA, at least for another 75 years. Meantime, we really need that money for other critical needs, money that is being poured down a useless hole right now (useless for 95 percent of the people).
