MEN AND WOMEN OF CIA ARE AMERICAN HEROES

In modern America, we believe security and safety are entitlements. And like the welfare recipient who curses the taxpayer, we offer those who keep us safe not gratitude, but resentment.

Or condemnation.

As the Democratic majority in the United States Senate demonstrated yesterday in the release of an overview of a 6,000-page report intended to rip apart the CIA.

At issue are interrogation methods used by the CIA in the effort to investigate the Islamic attacks of September 11, 2001, and to prevent subsequent terrorist acts against this country. But at its core, this is about the Left’s hatred for the CIA, and, arguably, for the nation it protects.

And that is what’s at issue here.

Protecting this nation.

That’s what the Central Intelligence Agency does. Twenty-four seven, three sixty-five. Every hour of every day, in most corners of the globe, the patriotic men and women of the CIA are on duty, diligently making sure that the American homeland, and those of us blessed to live in it, are safe and secure.

And for that, yesterday, they were spat upon.

Like Vietnam veterans coming home through the San Francisco airport, people who protected our country are called the modern equivalent of baby killers. Instead of appreciating their service, we are condemning it.

And that is wrong.

The release of this report is a betrayal of America’s interests and America’s defenders. It will lead to death and destruction, endangering both our people and our friends.

It is another step in a suicidal march of national self-destruction, an unprecedented instance in which a once great nation seems intent on slitting its own throat. People elected to serve the country seem intent instead on scuttling the country.

Take yesterdays’ release for example. What national leader in his or her right mind would ever do anything guaranteed to make trouble for their country? Who sells the interests of their nation down the river?

The report on the CIA, with its accusations and falsehoods, does nothing but shame America on the world stage and enflame folks who don’t need any help getting enflamed. When the men and woman who defend and represent America are in harm’s way across the globe, and their nation’s leaders do something that puts their lives in danger, that is treasonous.

It’s not cleansing of the soul, its endangering of the homeland.

No nation in history has sold out its own self-interest. America, under this push of the Democratic Party, is the first.

The report was a betrayal of national interest.

It was also a distortion of reality.

First, in many instances the report of the Democrats in the Senate is not factually accurate. That is the claim of people in and out of the CIA with knowledge of the subject.

Further, the report, released sanctimoniously in 2014, is completely out of the context of the first five years of the war against Muslim terrorism. The immediate and paramount interest in stopping an ongoing war against the American homeland is a matter of the highest priority.

Highest priority.

Understand those words.

And understand that in a war for survival, which is exactly what we were in as firefighters and construction workers were still finding remains at Ground Zero, national survival is the only priority.

American men and women were charged with keeping this country and its children safe from an array of possible attacks that included everything from nuclear detonations to chemical or biological attack. If they could fly planes into skyscrapers, we figured, what else could they fly planes into.

And if they would slaughter innocents like that, who knows what other targets and means they might consider.

It might seem easy for the sophisticated and superior a decade later to look down their nose at what they call jingoistic paranoia, but in the day and in the situation, priorities were a little different.

And if they had to lean on somebody, they leaned on somebody.

And if the Democrats who tend to mock American values want to say that what happened was a violation of our values, well, they don’t know America quite as well as they think.

Because the rest of us love our country.

And will defend our country.

And if putting some pressure on a handful of terrorists is part of our effort to protect some 300 million Americans, then so be it.

The fact is, that if one American dad had one of those terrorists, and thought he could save his child’s life by putting the screws to him, there would have been done a whole lot worse than was done by the CIA.

And if some terrorists got waterboarded or sleep deprived or squeezed in a box, then that’s the way it goes.

War, as they say, is hell.

And there’s no glory in bending over and grabbing your ankles and waiting for somebody to start shouting about his diety.

As I read it, one person died during interrogation, presumably from hypothermia.

That’s too bad.

But it’s not much compared to the 3,000 of us who had already died, or the 300 million of us we were trying to protect.

Or the countless who have been killed by jihadis in the decade since, or the families, religions and peoples who are being wiped out by these ISIS folks in the last year.

To be honest, in defense of a nation, the death of some random terrorist is nothing.

Unless you’re have an attack of conscience, and throwing your country under the bus.

Here’s what we should learn from this report and its release: Brave Americans will do anything to protect our homeland and people, and they will get stabbed in the back for their efforts.

President Obama and Senate Democrats proved that yesterday.

This issue got quite a bit of play last night on the network news compared to the Gruber hearing which got barely ten seconds. Which was more important, a fictionalized report on interrogation or the deception which resulted in the takeover of 1/6 of the nation's economy?

You could see Nora O’Donnell and Gail King clenching their jaws during an interview this am with past CIA director.

Normally, especially when airing a segment on Obama golfing or Obama on a comedy show, or Obama doing other stuff not working, they are as giggly as high school girls.

Here, this guy laid it out and they were visibly mad that he was right about what they did at the time.

Feinstein ought to be brought up on charges of treason.

To the memory of Johnnie Mike Spann.

Feinstein and any other democrat that signed onto this Treason should stand before a firing squad.

My family and I appreciate the sacrifices made by our intelligence professionals. Please keep up the good work knowing that the great majority of Americans support you.

I agree and would welcome the wails and cries of MCCARTHYISM! Then we could bring straight to the spotlight that McCarthy was right when hunting down the communists in DC, oh, and di-fi and her hubby just LOVE dealing with COMMUNIST CHINA. hmmm....

let us not forget that it was a CIA Clandestine operative that track down and found Osama bin Laden not Barry Obama as the media would have you think....this animal is like no other... Therefore we must do and act in ways that is not historical to US operations abroad...

Almost hate to this, but the best (breast) thing the CIA did for me during operation Anaconda was to have a female on cam just showing a side profile view.

Helped improve our morale.

“Feinstein and any other democrat that signed onto this Treason should stand before a firing squad.”

Our government is full of traitor trash.

I’d like to give the republican majority one more chance at peacefully taking out the trash next year, but I doubt that will happen.

I think it is time for the CIA to do some document dumps of its own—college transcripts, passport records, FBI files, birth certificates, Social Security number usage, things like that.

FiDi, and the rest of the RATs, seem to forget the first casualty in Afgahnistan was a CIA agent who was “humanely” interrogating a prisoner in the prison yard.

I would have more respect for the CIA if they hadn’t participated in the TWA800 coverup, by releasing the ridiculous zoom-climb video, complete with dramatic musical accompaniment, with no other apparent purpose than to discredit the witnesses. But certainly not to affirm the laws of physics and aerodynamics. By doing that they show that they’re a lot more about advancing the political interests of certain elites rather than acting righteously or justly.

As one who has met with CIA personnel in Southeast Asia, and a Cold War veteran, I agree that the men and women that serve in that agency ARE heroes, occupying and moving in the shadows.

One idiot poster, whom i forgot the name of, decried the entire agency about some fool air disaster. Obviously, that poster has never had the opportunity to give back to his nation, what he has sucked out of it.

when there WAS a Soviet Union, and the connective tissue called The Warsaw Pact, the world was a very different place, then today. People died, just so that we, the people of America, could go on with our lives. And they died, in the shadows, in the dark, and some times, alone.

Full marks to the CIA whose officers serve in some of the rattiest posts in the world, under the rattiest of conditions. Let’s don’t forget the intel folks from other agencies who serve alongside them in embassies and consulates under the same conditions. CIA officers face more dangers than some of their brethren of course.
