Bravo to Time magazine. There were rumors about loser Ferguson/Garner protesters/looters would be selected.

They are the unsung heros in an effort to battle back a major disease.

I think about the the tens of thousands of care takers who perished, especially monks and nuns, who attempted to take care of plague victims during the Black Death of the 14th century. Doctors Without Borders and others are today’s versions of those people.

That will actually be an article worth reading, even if it is Time Magazine.

Yes, the ones on the front lines but not the ones who flew on planes and ran around in the US without taking the necessary precautions.

The rest of the world can sleep at night because a group of men and women are willing to stand and fight. For tireless acts of courage and mercy, for buying the world time to boost its defenses, for risking, for persisting, for sacrificing and saving, the Ebola fighters are TIMEs 2014 Person of the Year. Good choice...

Time did us proud.
Hard to believe a MSM outfit did NOT use this opportunity to give us the finger. Thanks ‘Time’...

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Person of the Year (called Man of the Year until 1999) is an annual issue of the United States news magazine Time that features and profiles a person, group, idea or object that "for better or for worse...has done the most to influence the events of the year".TIME Unveils Finalists for 2014 Person of the Year
Given their finalists, this was a non-controversial and politically correct choice.
But if Time was still a serious news organization, how about Putin? This might be analogous to choosing finalists including Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini and the doctors and nurses fighting the influenza epidemic of 1938. And picking the influenza fighters. There are little doubt that third-world epidemic disease is significant, but is it that significant to the world at large?

It is a safe bet that this narcissistic attention whore who was willing to expose multitudes to the disease will receive supreme accolades in the Time article.
