Here seems to be the crux of your issue with me. These alleged tea party people allegedly said, "Plenty of trees in the front yard," another said. "Wouldn't be the first one hung on one of them trees."

The underlined word "one" quite obviously is meant to refer to a black person and invoke the memory of an ugly era. Now, I don't believe these are actually tea party people. But, if they turn out to claim that affiliation, and did actually say that, then I condemn it.

Why you had a problem with me saying that is for you to explain.

Justifying those comments because progressives did it, or because we need to be tougher is misguided and will not make conservatism appeal to the sheeple. If/when the time comes to water the tree, that kind of bigotry, and that's what it is, cannot be the rallying cry.
