Money quote:

The Cuban leader then called on President Obama to use his executive power to “remove the obstacles” that restrict the ties between the two countries and address the issues related to travel, direct postal service and telecommunication.

Takes one to know one. What is so funny is how the example of the embargo of Cuba destroyed a favorite Leftist political-economic theory from the 60s/70s; Dependency Theory. The proponents argued the economic relationship between the First World and Third World was fundamentally exploitative in favor of the First World. So when the US imposed the embargo on Cube according to these people that did Cuba a huge favor by no longer being exploited by the US. We all know how that turned out and I laugh when Commies going back to Fidel have called for the boycott to end. Fidel and company basically said Dependency Theory is crap.

Are we negotiating to become a “Worker’s Paradise”?

We might be a little to far to the Left for Cuba at this point...
