I've heard that term before somewhere. Isn't a "worker's paradise" a place that has no jobs?
If you're in a communist country in the Caribbean you sit around in the sun and drink rum all day...it doesn't sound as bad as a Worker's Paradise in most other places, you sit under a grey sky freezing and drinking vodka...
...perhaps the Soviet Communists courted Cuba to join them as a PR stunt...
