This Is What Our Hellish World Will Look Like After We Hit the Global Warming Tipping Point

The de facto assumption of climate change policy is that the world must limit the increase in global temperatures to 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit (2 degrees Celsius) above pre-Industrial levels, or risk hitting a tipping point where the impact becomes irreversible. The figure dates back to 1975, when economist William Nordhaus suggested that more than 3.6 degrees of warming would “take the climate outside of the range of observations which have been made over the last several hundred thousand years.” By the 1990s, 3.6 degrees gained traction in the scientific community and then in politics, when the European Council argued in 1996 that 3.6 degrees should be the United Nations’ red line for global warming. It wasn’t until four years ago, at a climate conference in Cancun, Mexico, that countries finally committed to “hold the increase in global average temperatures below” 3.6 degrees.

Despite being almost 40 years old, this temperature threshold remains controversial—and for good reason. One: It's rather arbitrary. Two: It's unrealistic. To stay within 3.6 degrees, global carbon pollution would have to begin coming down in the next decade, according to the United Nations Environmental Program Emissions Gap Report. The world would have to reach zero net greenhouse gas emissions before the end of the century.

I have a theory. If everything was put here by God, then fossil fuels were also a creation of our lord.

Our lord is a bright fellow and he knew the heaven and earth would be affected by the sun. So he put in a thermostat to monitor what is happening to the earth and how to regulate it.

Thee more fossil fuel we burn, the warmer it gets. The less fossil fuel we burn, the colder it gets. Since this whole “climate change” debate, we have been going green and the earth is cooling. In reality, it’s the liberals who are the screeching alarm telling us something is wrong.

That’s why god made liberals. To remind us that we need to correct. But that isn’t the libs job. Their job is to screech and let the responsible adults take over.

So, now that the earth is cooling, we once again must burn more fossil fuel to create the balance. If we continue on the path the liberals have set for us, the tipping point isnt that we are going to burn up, but in fact we will freeze. And at that point, there isn’t anything we can do.

Rather than hit the alarm and go back to bed, we need to get up, take a stand and fix what is broken, which happens to be our cuckoo clocks.

I really do hope that we have some global warming. The type of warming that allowed wine production in southern Scotland. Our ancestors apparently prospered during periods of warmth during the 11th and 12th centuries. Harvests were relatively good and populations increased. The latter middle ages brought the little ice age and plagues. Apparently, poor nutrition is not very good for the immune system.
But the question I always pose to Leftists is how could there have been global warming in the 11th and 12th centuries w/o coal plants and SUVs? How did the ice age end w/o carbon taxes?

This is a dip into the real coo-coo bird stuff the Left so enjoys. There is a "drownometer" map that allows you to see what your home town will look like after it's flooded by the ocean or nearby stream as you and your family die horrible, liquid deaths.

I live at nearly 6,000' MSL in New Mexico. The Atlantic and Pacific can't touch me, nor can the waters from the Gulf of Mexico. The Rio Grande, which slices north to south through Albuquerque, has more than three miles, and over 1,000' of elevation change to get to me. Bring it!

Wow. If his dad did indeed vote GOP in the 2014 midterms in MD, he MUST have been quite displeased with the way things were going and persuaded by his son’s arguments.

The City of Olympia in, capitol of state Washingstan, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on mapping, preparations and other such nonsense for the inevitable rise of the seas caused by the evils of man and industry.

Their Public Works Director was a huge leftist and last I heard he took some related job in Wisconsin... Go Figure

GLoBULL warming "tipping point" is the same as "peak oil". We never quite seem to ever get there.

The sooner we pass the "tippng point" can we then just go on with our lives and not worry about it.

Which one?
The moonbats keep creating new ones... always 20-30 years off. Sometimes 100 years off.

But we absolutely must stop and revert millions of years of natural processes that no one, absolutely no one fully understands.

Computer models? They keep the insane controlling geeks busy and out of trouble, but totally useless.
