I would not put great faith in the numbers stated in this interview as fact.
He also claimed shale production dropped of 80% in the first year. While some may drop that fast, the average is more like 50% in the Bakken.
That is also production, not counting the cost for getting a field to produce after all the money has been spent to build it out.
