Apparently he was a stooge for FDR anyway. When someone says freedom from want, he really means redistribution of wealth.

I hope they do.

Why is it these groups 'steal' classic - movies, paintings and such - and turn them to their own uses?

Let them create their own "classics."

I certainly don’t know for sure, but he was an early supporter for civil rights for African Americans, so he may very well have approved of the ads.
