Could that be at least in part because she was "targeted" to extremes by the 'Rats?

It’s pretty hard to succeed as a constitutional conservative when both wings of the Uniparty are gunning for you.

Yes, certainly, in part. But I can't absolve any underperforming member of their part of it. While a nationally prominent conservative she must have at least somewhat neglected to endear herself to her district.
