It was the center-right that backed out when they realized that the Sweden Democrats were going to gut their voting base.

The result will likely be a much stronger Sweden Democrat party acting as the effective opposition: unintended consequences for the tin ear political class. These oh-so-smart establishment parties may cause the Sweden Democrats to double their vote from 13% in the last election.

I know that last election was the last time I voted for the (so called) center-right parties. After this little event it will be the Swedish Democrats next election, and so say most of my friends and colleagues as well.
