Actually you should be more careful. There’s a number of rich oil emirates in the ME which are quite prosperous. Mind you it has nothing to do with their actual productivity, but rather just on the liquid which sits under their ground and the minds they can import to extract it.

Kuwait
Oman
UAE
Qatar
are all pretty prosperous simply because they have enough oil to prop up their economies coupled with fairly small populations (SA is running into a problem on that front since they have been breeding like rabbits). Beyond oil, none of them produce a pot to piss in.
