President Barack Obama has said Vladimir Putin made a "strategic mistake" when he annexed Crimea, in a move that was "not so smart".

Those thinking his Russian counterpart was a "genius" had been proven wrong by Russia's economic crisis, he said.

And the cherry on top came moments ago when, as if to assure all involved parties that there will be enough capital support on both sides, the PBOC released a surprising announcement that the central banks of China and Russia signed a 3-year, 150 billion yuan bilateral local-currency swap deal today, according to a statement posted on PBOC website. Deal can be expanded if both parties agree, statement says. Deal aims to make bilateral trade and direct investment more convenient and promote economic development in 2 nations.

Hey Hussein — Vlad still has Crimea.

And he ain’t giving it back.

But watch him reestablish goodwill with the world by “compromising” on the rest of the Ukraine.

Obama was a stoner through college, before college, and still is.
How a dumbass got to become POTUS in my country is beyond any scope
of the idiocy prism.

Whereas The One’s genius has given USA the most people out of work since the 1930’s. The most people on welfare. The most people homeless. The most people without hope. Or who have gotten so discouraged they arent evrn looking for work. While the federal govt policies penalize investment in new jobs. Such genius we have ruling america today!

Maybe he could move there permanently and “help” them organize the community.

I’ll chip in $10 to send him there on a one-way ticket.

I have no idea what Putin's next step will be. However, it seems pretty obvious that the sanctions give him a great opportunity to develop more of the true potential of Russia's vast natural resources, while increasing the pride and self-sufficiency of his people. I remember how little Rhodesia responded to international sanctions after its 1965 Declaration of Independence.

While Kissenger eventually managed to strangle Rhodesia in 1976, by threatening to cut off its oil, such a strangulation would not be possible with Russia,

Putin has a real opportunity, here. Whether he seizes it or not, I have no idea. The tip-off will be if he starts having weekly fireside type broadcasts to the Russian people, illustrating their progress towards better allocation of resources, while helping their neighbors with the unfortunate side effects of the present currency debacle.

But it is a text-book opportunity.

Meanwhile, Obama sashays along, undermining American self-sufficiency & pride in accomplishments.

Why is he starting another pissing duel with Putin?

The narcissist in chief cannot abide the possibility that someone somewhere might think Putin is smarter than he is. He has to try to tear down the competition even though no one else much cares. It is just what narcissistic personalities have to do.

“You oppose Russia when their interests aren't ours, and at least have a co-belligerent support for him when his interests are the same as our (such as opposing Islam).”

Exactly. There would seem to be many areas of mutual interest (e.g., opposing radical Islam, stopping the expansion of nuclear-weapons capability) that might serve as a way of reducing tensions between the U.S. and Russia while, at the same time, making clear to Putin that we will oppose with military force his ambition to restore the territorial boundaries of the old Soviet Union.

Obama: Putin is no chess master
"There was a spate of stories about how he is the chess master and outmaneuvering the West and outmaneuvering Mr. Obama and this and that and the other. And right now, he's presiding over the collapse of his currency, a major financial crisis and a huge economic contraction," Obama said. "That doesn't sound like somebody who has rolled me or the United States of America."

Russia has taken full share of social and other problems, including a large islamoNazi Enemy Within But anyone thinking o underestimating the “ bottom line” resolve of the Russian people may wish to review history. Starting perhaps with WW 2.

Team Obama / Hillary have made remarkable strides with Russian relations.

I'm sure the Russians really respect him.

The dude was a failure then as well.

Most people are proud of their successes. Their supporters and promoters point to the fact that they have presented the best candidate for the job.

All of that was suppressed.
The punk thug was not smart nor successful.

Just a product of “affirmative action” who barely made it by by other standards... and was foisted on America by clintonistas and others equally complicit.

.... and he has the nerve to suggest that Putin ain’t that bright???? LOL!

Putin is a quiet little piranha, forceful and smart. If he had greater resources, he would truly be dangerous. Either way? Politically will swim circles around nObama.

Putin would have to be dead for a few millenia before his IQ would sink to that of Dorkbama.

The Dorkbama would lose a tic-tac-toe match with a cat.
