“The new crusade responds to climate change by urging universities, churches, pension funds and other big institutional investors to destroy petroleum and coal companies by dumping their shares and reinvesting in a fossil-free clean-energy economy”
Uh, dumping stock is hardly going to “destroy” these companies as it simply means smarter people will get the stock for a bargain price, and the sellers instead “investing” in the “clean-energy economy” will lose all of their money, thereby becoming non-factors in future tilting-at-windmill crusades.
I agree with the author of the article: all of that sounds like a really good idea to me.

“The Left should do us and the earth a favor by killing themselves. Their corpses will leave an acceptably small carbon footprint.”
Plus their corpses could be turned into Soylent Green that could be offered to the remaining leftists as a environmentally responsible alternative to eating other kinds of meat.

Back in HS I carried James Burkes original Connections and Day The Universe Changed. A few of the teaching crowd were kind of irked but a few approved. Loved those books and TV series. Used them myself.

Ill wait for the food Nazis to respond to this, but Im not holding my breath. I suspect most of these guys fear the mixing of plant and animal genes, as do I. The other stuff is just speeding up the process we have used since the beginning.

I don’t see how this is even practical, as animal genes are way more complex than plant genes. Not only that, animal genes probably would not work in a vacuum; i.e. they probably depend on other genes within their original genome.

I dont see how this is even practical, as animal genes are way more complex than plant genes. I think you will find that they have already done some of this.
