I doubt that the police officer was armed. She was apparently investigating a traffic accident when this gunman came up and shot her and also hit a street cleaner working nearby. I wonder if the accident was staged as a trap?
The French better arm their police. They’re just sitting ducks now.
The French have three main police forces. The national (two of them) are armed, often more heavily than US cops.
Most of the municipal cops, which is probably what this lady is, are not armed. That may change.
Should note that being armed does not keep you from being shot. The cops killed in NYC were armed.
They should quit forbidding the citizens arming themselves.
