Actually, being in the top 1% is not that big of a deal... There are two numbers you have to deal with though. The first is how you stack up against all Americans, and in that category I’m in the top 1%. The second way of computing it is by age. Older people tend to have more net worth (house, IRA etc.), and computing it by age I’m only in the top 10%.
If Warren is over 60 Y.O., 3 million in not going to put her in the top 1% by age.
As for myself, I’m not rich... I drive an eight year old car which I bought used and make payments on, and buy a lot of things from the thrift store.
