“Hayes Valley neighborhood at Laguna and Page streets.”...
“Street Rat ghetto area??????
Yep,can’t get gentrified soon enough.
Only bad thing, they will all run over here to the East Bay.
It used to be a nice area of modest flats and small apartments, and then the neighboring ghetto spilled over and drove everybody decent out of the area. Much of Hayes Valley, however, has been “reclaimed,” partially because there are a lot of performing arts institutions in the area so it was necessary to make the neighborhood safer so the audience members didn’t get killed on their way back to their cars. And of course, the property then became so valuable in the neighborhood that it attracted development, renovation, etc. and now it’s actually not bad.
However, the marauders still come in from time to time, and it sounds to me as if this was a group drug dealers or gang members getting rubbed out by their rivals. Glad nobody else got hurt!
Rest assured wherever there is a shotspotter is installed is a ‘diverse’ neighborhood.
