The West's relationship with much of the Muslim world is inflamed right now. Why choose to pour salt in this open wound, rather than ask ourselves what we can do to build bridges of understanding?

Let's see 911, Ft. Hood, Boston Marathon. Who's pouring salt on what open wound?

Well, fine. Just so we know what the rules are. I assume that newspaper won't be publishing anything more about Christianity, then? Why limit it to religion? Nothing more published about conservatives or somebody walks in and slaughters the newsroom? Fine.

If you don't want to live in a world like that, then this stops now.

Responsibility is such an awesome burden. Small wonder that so few take it up.

And we have not seen much of it exercised lately, with these plays with words and casual sophistry being tossed off as if that were supposed to be clever.

The West’s relationship with the Islamic world has ALWAYS been inflamed, starting with the Hegira, the migration of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and his followers from Mecca to Medina in June 622. They were escaping retribution for their felonious behavior, and had Mohammed and his followers been wiped out then, history would have been vastly different. Subsequently, the Muslims, with very hardened attitudes, made their version of a vow, “Never again!” Mohammed went on a rampage, destroying the practice of every other religion he came into contact with, either by declaring it subordinate to the worship of Allah, or by murdering all the priests and chief followers of that religion in a very public way, forcing the remainder of the members of that sect to flee into exile, while the Islamic Crusade proceeded to sweep in and repopulate the land with their corps of marauders and converted members, who had sworn to uphold the objective of conquest and conversion of all to Islam and their unswerving devotion to Allah and the Prophet Mohammed.

Mohammed was a very abrasive personality on his best day, and just plain crazy most of the rest of the time. In his way, he probably defined “narcissism” in its worst possible meaning. It was always about him, Allah was just kind of an afterthought tacked on later.

Yelling "fire" in a crowded theater remains as contentious as 90 years ago when Oliver Wendell Holmes first (loosely) coined the phrase.

That quote refers to there being no fire.

If there actually IS a fire, however, trying to suppress the same announcement is attempted murder.

Which is exactly what the author is trying to do.

These writers must live under rocks. They think evil is ok. Sad part, there are many like them.

The press loves to state the obvious and pretend likes it’s profound insight. Unfortunately, the only speech that ever needs protecting is unpopular speech. A speech about puppies never gets grief.

I’m presuming this is a pretty liberal paper, but public comments on the article are not amused! Nice to see.

The theater is fully engulfed...Top to bottom...

So everyone remain in your seats and calmly, quietly, and politely discusses with each other the temperature of the theater.

gak...

That’s right and that’s why the politicians and news folk need to stop saying over and over that Islam is the religion of peace.

The individual absolutely DOES have the right to cry “FIRE!” in a crowded theater...In fact, he has a solemn duty IF there is in fact a fire...

And we have the right to hold that individual to account if he is not telling the truth and injury results...

The Muslim world is at war with the West, and those people sounding the alarm are telling us the truth...Will it take another “9/11”-type attack or a Pearl Harbor event to get enough of us to wake up? I think it will...

Question is, will it be too late by then?

These chicken**** commie libs in the “media” need to apply this same “responsibility” when it comes to dealing with Americans, Christians and conservatives too. Just because WE don’t murder and behead those who “dis” us, it doesn’t mean that the “progressieve” commie libs have the right to walk and trample all over US.

the Murkey Newz is hardly a ‘responsible’ publication, running probably a 98.44% hardcore leftist/commie editorial policy, year in and year out.

having said that,
Dear MN folk:
we will NOT be censored in the name of a false premise that any ‘peace’ would result with the march of the IslamoNazi world against us (and everyone else)

there is no such peace, you can get a copy of their Koran at almost any Goodwill store, for just 50 cents or a buck or two. There are at least 17 Goodwill stores in your immediate circulation area.
Also, Starvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul.

Suggest you may wish to start reading sectionsL
8:12; 47:4; 9:111; 8:60; 4:101; 9:29; 98:6; 2:216.
And there’s lots more ...

Do your homework before writing your editorials, please!
Thank you!

freedom of speech is part of the foundation of our nation. So is freedom of religion which also means that we have freedom from the religion of others. Freedom from their religion is what this is all about.

We are free, totally free, of anything and everything muslim. We can talk about it, make fun of it, or burnt their holy book as we desire. To put limits on that is very unamerican. If you what a theocracy then they need to go back to the middle east, climb back into their cave and get ready for the drones.

Just two acts of terrorism? Really? These supposed reporters must not have been paying attention or are intentionally putting it up to work place violence.

The problem is...

when it’s “piss christ” or whatever else that demeans Christianity... then we are all told to sit down and shut up! free speech! freedom of expression! ect.

and yet when someone simply draws a cartoon on the pedophile prophet .. then it’s .... free speech needs to be tempered, that’s hate speech! that’s racist! ect.

When the left starts treating everyone equally in this regard I will start listening to them again on this matter! Until then they can F off! because their hatred of Christians makes whatever else they have to say noise to me.
