That is good news. My last trip to the UK was in April 1999. We left San Diego destined for Heathrow. Our luggage didn't make it. American Airlines promised to deliver it to our hotel. They failed to deliver to Cardiff. We purchased some necessary items in town. Next stop Carmarthen. Still no luggage. After a couple days it was off to Aberystwyth. Our luggage arrived at 5:30 PM on Tuesday night. We departed Aber on Thursday, stayed in London through Friday morning and flew home. We enjoyed meeting friends and family over the week. The travel arrangements were less than ideal. Not sure if we will visit again.

They were incorrect, despite the substantial population of Muslims, Birmingham in the UK is a much safer city than most cities of similar size in the US.
You know sometimes when I read posts here about issues outside the US and posters talk up the absurd claims about how life is so terrible in Europe I ask myself have they ever been to some places in American cities which are positively terrifying by comparison with their European counterparts.
Neither Birmingham nor any other part of Europe is on the point of falling into lawless no-go areas, that’s not something I would say with confidence about many parts of the United States.
