Birmingham is actually famous in the UK and Ireland not for racial problems, but for being an ugly concrete carbuncle, and having a dull horrible accent. Its lampooned for a lack of culture.

They only gave the world, Black Sabbath, The Move and ELO.

I love all three, esp The Move.

Other bands include Spencer Davis, Moody Blues, Traffic, Judas Priest, UB40, Duran Duran, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Joan Armatrading and Fine Young Cannibals. More recently bands like Ocean Colour Scene and The Streets.

I don’t and never have lampooned it, but some do. The claim is that it dosent have a definable identifiable culture, like London, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool or Belfast. I think that’s unfair. A lot of it is just London snobbery tbh.

And UB40, Cadbury, BSA, and Preston tools.

That said, Leicester city, Coventry, and London's Park Lane leading toward Paddington Station are the deepest darkest paki lands in Blighty my eyes have seen.
