I, too, stayed up to watch the filibuster and I agree, it was the best political TV I have ever seen, should be required viewing for middle schools.

A lot of people joined the RSC just for the conservative credit, which watered it down.
And then Boehner actively attacked it and finally got his stooge installed to lead it this last election.

A sad end to a once great organization. But typical politics.

Republican Study Commitee Scism, led by Jim Jordan.

Unfortunately the Paulbot Amash is also involved.

I think my local guy, Ron De Santis, did vote for Boenher. That won’t work for me, Ron!

Wow! Personally I find little to criticize in Labrador and much to praise.

He did negotiate over “conprehensive immigration reform” but pulled out before the group could produce an amnesty bill.
I understand that can be suspicious, but is there some other act of his that has been repugnant that I missed?

He seems like someone who would do well by conservatives if given the chance, which Boehner has never and will never let him have.

Labrador stepped in it big time when voting for Boehner. But I suspect you know that.

He didn’t do as his constituents told him to do. Now he’s going to be part of a “breakaway” group.

Now, that of course doesn’t disqualify him from the conservative movement, but it certainly calls his veracity into question.

What I ‘especially’ like about this group is that it’s a continuation of the battle against Boehner which so many congressmen find their voters are demanding of them.
That gives it solid immediate political gravitas.

I can be called cynical for it- but I believe the #1 job for a Speaker is to run the House in a way to get his caucus members reelected. The formation of this group shows Boehner’s not doing that; and can affect how the House is run so as to help their reelection chances.
Self-interest is the bedrock of politics, in my possibly cynical view.

In other words,

“I know better than you do. You had enough sense to elect me but on other matters you are stupid. Now shut up and let me do what I want to do”

Signed Labrador, who wishes he had the loyalty of the Dog by the same name?

If it’s any consolation, 33 of 36 TX reps voted for Boehner.

We’ll see which ones are invited into the new Conservative Study Committee. Those which aren’t, PRIMARY TIME.

With respect, I’d take a differing view. Boehner is getting his caucus re-elected by promising what he has no intention of delivering. He’s doing exactly what he’s supposed to do, though, but too many of the wrong people are getting re-elected.

Who knows how many twenty, thirty, sixty, maybe many more used the same sick, sorry, lame excuse; once again they treat us like we are stupid, they can just bend over one more time like they did on 1/6/15 and kiss their butts good bye.

Reminds me of that fatal sigh of conservatives caving to a RINO in the voting booth, "He can win."

“I very recently quit them after 40+ years. (or they quit me)”

I quit them the day cry baby was voted in again.

They’re going to have to prove themselves to get me back.

Yup. He left the real conservatives sit out on a limb while he stayed safe in the midst of the other cowards.

How is that anything to be proud of?

I second that emotion. This is the time for prayer. The Band of Brothers for our time, need our prayers as they move forward in the footsteps of our Founders. God bless then all.
