In both, they do not mention what might have caused his death. For all we know, he had a bullet hole through his head.
I have seen this tactic by the media for years. It's the same thing they do with TV shows when they go to commercial. Got to keep you hanging.

Sure, but what if the assassin dipped the bullet in Ebola tainted blood?
Did he die of a GSW to the head or Ebola?

It may take a few weeks for cause of death to be determined. The autopsy has to be conducted, toxicology and other tests need to be run. It is sad that he died so soon after coming back from deployment.
