Gateway Pundit ^ | 1.14.15 | self

Posted on 01/14/2015 7:03:49 PM PST by bboop

I am just out the door - saw this posted on Gateway Pundit. Indonesian government officials announced that the last words on the black box recorder of the Air Asia flight were (ta-dah): "Allahu akbar."

Heading out the door to a rehearsal or I'd post properly!!

I truly doubt they have any data from it yet.

Old news actually. Both the voice and data recorders have been recovered.

a muslim saying that Allah is great right before he dies is nothing unusual and by itself does not prove he was a terrorist and took down the plane. we need to know why the plane went down.

Its not opened like you would tear into a Chrismas present. Doubtful much of anything has been done with it. I read this much earlier here today. This would be big enough news, especially after Paris, that this would have been headline news today. Considering when this was first posted, this is most likely a myth. At least so far. But, I would not be shocked.

Good point. A Christian might say the equivalent prayer or statement.

Actually, there are two recorders, and I think they found one of them a day or so ago. Perhaps the cockpit recorder was the first one found .. and that’s why they have been able to hear what the Pilots were saying.

But .. I’m not surprised at all about what they said.

It’s the functional equivalent of yelling “Holy $#!+”

Would a Christian pilot say, “Help me, Jesus” or something to that effect? I probably would be praying loudly and out loud myself.

This story was originally reported in the Indonesian language from a Newspaper there. It was picked up by the New Straits times, and then Yahoo News. Walid Shoebat picked it up earlier today and had to issue a revision to his story saying there is no verification that the “Expert” who supposedly heard those words on the voice recorder and was quoted has actually even listened to the recording as of yet. .

This story is the proverbial “much ado about nothing” at this point.

This story is the proverbial “much ado about nothing” at this point.

This 'story' has been repeated all over the place today, and it is as you say, nothing.

The original words were translated and lost some tense and meaning in the process. The guy was trying to say that as soon as he got to listen that he was going to have a hard time listening to HIS FRIEND'S LAST WORDS.

He also discussed the previous experiences he has had, and some of the last words he had heard before.

Anyway, after translation, the whole thing got really ambiguous and easily mis-read.

My understanding is that the CVR has to undergo a drying out period before it can have the data extracted from it.

Well doesn’t that just figure.

It would, if it were true. Unfortunately, it is not. At least not yet. The CVR was recovered, but no one had heard what is on it yet. The guy in the article is only saying what he thinks he might hear, based on experience.

The story has appeared here on FR at least twice already, usually with a completely misleading headline.

It wasn't, and no one has heard what is on it as of this moment.

But .. I’m not surprised at all about what they said.

You may be, because no one knows what they said, yet. The guy in this article was explaining what they had heard on previous CVR's. He said he was dreading hearing what his friend's (the pilot) last words WILL BE.

But the article was written ambiguously due to translation into English, and has caused total confusion all day.

It all started with YAHOO SINGAPORE providing the translated article from the NEW STRAITS TIMES in Malaysia.

Why should anyone attribute veracity to this report without testing things further? I fear we are being played for suckers.

It just took a few clicks to get to the baselessness of this story.
It would have been prudent for the Freeper posting this to have done a little investigating before posting.
But, on the other hand, saying something like that would be plausible based on its historic use by savage terrorists..

I appreciate all of your clarifications. Love FR. I had a busy day at work and about 1/2 hour before rehearsal. When I saw it on Gateway Pundit, it seemed legit but I hadn’t had time to look at FR first. Should have. Thanks for clarification.
