Colts ask NFL to place McNary on exemption list, following rape charges

The Indianapolis Colts asked NFL Commissioner Goodell to place Colts Linebacker Josh McNary on the commissioner's exemption list Thursday, after he was charged Wednesday with felony counts of rape and criminal confinement and a misdemeanor count of battery resulting in bodily injury. Police say he turned himself in and was processed at the Marion County Jail Wednesday evening.

The woman told police she told him "no" several times. At first, the woman said he refused to allow her to leave. She left the apartment after he got up to go to the bathroom. As she left, she took his cell phone.

Later, police would trace the phone back to McNary.

The woman reported the incident to the police and underwent a sexual assault examination, which revealed injuries to her vagina and ear. She says she never knew who he was that night, only that he was "new to downtown."

Police traced the cell phone to Josh McNary. When they spoke to him at his apartment, he said, "I know why you're here."

I wonder if anyone has ever put together the “stats” on NFL players involved in sex crimes. Mu bet is that it would be a higher percentage than the general population. Seems as though the are always being jailed for this sort of stuff. Probably similar stats for baseball and basketball.

He was “new” to “downtown”? Sounds like SHE was not. Curious. My attitude is to disbelief all claims of rape until proven.

So, a Vegas bookie can pay someone to make an allegation about one of this weekend’s starting QB’s and he’s outta there!

If the top of his skull were as wide as his jaw, maybe he would have more room for a brain.

Innocent until proven guilty. Let the criminal/judicial process happen.

as a female, I’ll say that so many women are just cheap...easy....so why do these football studs have to rape women?.....a lot of women give “it” up willingly.....must be a power thing....

Yeah...just like that accuser at UVA that Rolling Stone reported. Oh wait...fake.

Or just like Lena Dunham - she would NEVER lie about rape, right? Oh wait, she did.

How do you know that she didn’t give it up willingly? Because she says so?

I’m not saying she did or didn’t...but I can’t just take a rape accuser’s word for it anymore. There are so many rape accusations flying around these days. There are rarely any repercussions for making false allegations.

I used to think these women were telling the truth with rare exceptions. Now, I’m not so sure. I’d rather see the criminal justice system work. I want real rapists serving time, but where does a falsely accused male go to get his reputation back? What if this really was consensual sex? I want to hear both sides of the story before I jump to a conclusion.
