There are approximately 500k French Jews. My guess is that they are disproportionately represented in France’s arts, literature, Nobel Prize and wealth categories. I think if they all left France would be much poorer in all areas. The French, at some level, may realize this. (Or, alternatively, they’re just putting on a show and the guards might melt away and vanish if the Jews are attacked. Also, the Jews may arm themselves despite the laws, which probably frightens the government much more than the murdering Muslims. After all, if the Jews are armed, why not the general populace?)
